The questions and info below is exclusively for students who have reserved a spot for the 2012 winter workshop. Sing Smart Act Smart is thrilled that you will be joining us for an exciting New York City experience. We want to learn a little bit more about you before your arrival. Also, we want to communicate some basic information to help you prepare.

In New York we will assign you songs and provide you with copies of the music. However, you must bring with you sheet music to at least two songs that you already know well. If you cannot find the sheet music, we can email you a file to print.

Avoid singing from AIDA, CHICAGO, HAIRSPRAY, JEKYL & HYDE, LES MIZ, MAMMA MIA, RENT, SOUND OF MUSIC, SPRING AWAKENING, WICKED and the shows of Andrew Lloyd Webber . We highly encourage you to learn at least one song from the following list of composers: Harold Arlen, Irving Berlin, Jerry Bock, Cy Coleman, George Gershwin (not "Someone To Watch Over Me"), Jerry Herman, Jerome Kern, Burton Lane, Frank Loesser, Frederick Loewe (not Eliza's songs from "My Fair Lady"), Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, and Jule Styne (not Mamma Rose's songs from "Gypsy."). If you don't know these composers, please listen to selections in preparation.

If you have not already done so, please submit a recorded sample of your work via info@singsmartactsmart.com. You may send an mp3 or web links. We would also appreciate an electronic headshot or simply a nice picture of you.

Fall Lab 2011: Get Your Act Together

Mondays and Wednesdays beginning September 26. Final performance December 7. Choose your own schedule!

Three-star Pak*=$435 or $410 if paid by September 9
12 Classes plus a public performance: 4 classes may be private sessions. Entitles you to ten new songs. Expires December 7, 2011.

Two-star Pak*=$385 or $360 if paid by September 9
9 Classes plus a public performance: 2 classes may be private sessions. Entitles you to six new songs). Expires December 7, 2011.

One-star Pak*=$300 or $275 if paid by September 9
6 Classes: 1 class may be a private session. Entitles you to two new songs. Expires December 5, 2011.

1 class=3 hours (max of 9 students) or 2 hours (max of 6 students) or 1 private hour with instructor of your choice. One private hour with Judith Blazer=2 classes. If you plan to participate in the public performance, you must attend class on 11/30 or 12/5. Once you are accepted into Fall Lab, you will book your schedule via Jackson@singsmartactsmart.com.
